I managed to wrap up the story of Chapter 9 in Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, but missed one achievement for obtaining the final Armitage. It's on the world map, but to unlock the “gate” I have to fully clear three dungeons… which I’m not sure how I hadn’t managed that! I’ve been so meticulous about searching every inch of each map to collect all the items and kill all the enemies, but still nothing! Either way, I jumped into Chapter 10 so I'm locked in now until I’m done with the game. I only reached the first story beat in the final chapter, as I actually played other things this week. We'll see; maybe I'll finish this one finally next week.

All I really had left in Mensa Academy was to complete all of the Test Mode and earn all 300 available stars. Each discipline has 20 different levels to complete, and getting a perfect score earns you three stars. Each level is a combination of two of the minigames for each. I used the same strategy as I’d been doing for the rest of the game: screenshotting each puzzle, pausing the game, and solving as necessary. For a few of the Memory puzzles, I’d also use Snapchat to quickly record myself repeating the steps to the puzzle and letting the playback help me. And that was it! Didn’t expect to have this all polished up so soon, but here we are.

Yet another update on the never-ending Minecraft, so I did the usual and loaded up the Xbox, Android, and Windows versions to unlock the achievements. I actually got the achievement for creating a decorated pot using the new archeology feature on my own after a good few hours of playing, but I used a shared map for the other two achievements. Then I joined a server on the long-gestating Switch stack and popped a bunch of random achievements. I’ll wrap the rest of that up…at some point.

With the Mensa business all tied up, I decided to start a new game! I’ve been eyeing The Solitaire Conspiracy for a while now, and purchased it to support the developer, but never felt like doing a slow, card-based game. But, it’s perfect right now with my depressed state, so I started it. It’s just a different take on Solitaire, with a shiny spy-vs-spy wrapping (starring Greg Miller of Kinda Funny fame) and neat abilities tied to each suit. Each level is a small self-contained puzzle because the various powers will change your strategy to clear the board, and that’s fun. There are powers that are clearly beneficial, but others seem detrimental on the surface and only help in certain situations. But, overall, the game is pretty simple and the achievements mostly unlock as you level up. There’s some kind of mode I need to play for the final achievement, so maybe that’ll add some difficulty to the proceedings.
