The main focus of the week was slowly working through the Career Mode of Race Pro (but only because Palworld is dealing with lots of server issues). It’s SO BORING! Easy, but boring. Most races I make it to the first-place position during the initial lap, then just stay there the whole time. The only challenge is the change in vehicle… and not dozing off as the total laps in each subsequent contract go from 2 to 4 to 6 to 7! Luckily, as the week wound down I am now only one whole contract away from the end of the game! I’ll have to complete a couple races still on Professional (8 more, actually) and then I’m finally done!

Ugh, more eastasiasoft nonsense. Null Drifter had actually gotten achievements the same day as Project Starship back at the beginning of the month, but I just didn’t feel like getting around to it until… now. Of the three in the bundle, this is probably my favorite. It’s a fun and simple twin-stick shooter that keeps getting easier and easier as you buy more upgrades. I actually popped all these as soon as I loaded the game up; at least the developers were nice enough to make these retroactive. Took a few minutes and it’s back in the bin.

Over the weekend, Xbox finally managed to fix the issues we were seeing with the old Xbox Network. This only affected the Xbox 360 games, and apparently was why I couldn’t play or even access Watch Dogs... until Wednesday! I loaded up the (very slow) Xbox Marketplace and found I finally had the ability to download my game again. And, sure enough, after installing it also loaded up! I quickly settled in to start a minor playthrough from an older save I had on backup to get through the Missing Persons Investigation that had glitched on me. But, on a whim, I decided to instead load up my main save, just in case, and the achievement popped! Whew, it was retroactive. You never know how these developers are programming their games. Now I just need to hope they fix the online matchmaking. At least they’re aware of it…

I needed an achievement to continue my streak on Friday before heading out for some socialization, so I loaded up LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues and got an achievement that took maybe 3 minutes, if that. Still not super ready to commit to this one; these games are such a bore. I’ve heard the modern ones are far more enjoyable and robust, but these older entries are so stuck in “you played one, you’ve played them all” territory.

I hadn’t put much effort into Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway beyond logging in daily for the cumulative achievements, but I finally landed a gaming session where I could get some multiplayer achievements, including the two viral ones! On top of that, I just can’t double-box this game alone so I need other hunters. And it was a fairly successful session, where we managed to get all the achievements besides one, and that’s only because the tracking for that achievement seems spotty. We most certainly completed more than 20 matches, but alas most of us didn’t get the related achievement. We’ll be trying again next weekend, so here’s hoping.
