“The old rules don’t apply here, Earthlings.”

Achievements Earned In:
- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
- Phasmophobia

Man, I’m kinda sad that I’m done with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. YES, I know, I could just “play for fun” or some nonsense, but there are no more achievements! But, seriously, this game was a blast. Even with the endgame grind and how repetitive the mission structure can be, I never really stopped having fun. The original TA estimate was about 50-60 hours, and I came in under 30 hours, which I’d argue is a perfect length for a game like this. I think the large discrepancy came down to tackling the post-game, called Finite Crisis here. Your goal is to raise the “Mastery” level of the Incursion missions, which is where you dive into various scenarios in [REDACTED] and get the best loot in the game. As you increase the Mastery level you can tackle, you gain access to better tiers of gear! For the “hardest” achievements, you need to obtain three pieces of the Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 Infamy set of gear, themed after the villain Bane. There are other sets in various Episodes that have come out since release, though only the base game set works in obtaining the achievements.

For my playthrough, I switched between the three Incursions in the bottom-left of the map, making sure to always do the highest available Mastery level in each. This ensures you’ll get the most progress towards increasing your Finite Crisis Rank, which unlocks new levels of Mastery. If it seems like a lot, it is, which is standard for “live service” titles. You should see all the various materials/currency available… But, clearly it worked out! I was worried as I got to the end I’d have to do a lot of grinding, but even when I reached Mastery Level 24 (when the Bane’s Fury Tier 3 set starts dropping) it took only 3-4 runs to get all the pieces I needed. And, when I finished everything else, I only needed three more Squad levels to reach that final achievement, too! Even the Riddler trophies, riddles, and AR Challenges were no biggie, though for the two former ones I’d gotten a fair amount as I was playing naturally. I also managed to get a character using free LuthorCoins from the five available “Battle Passes”, and a Battle Pass itself using the token I’d gotten with the deluxe edition of the game I bought (for $4!). I went with Mrs. Freeze for the character, and the Season 2 Battle Pass. Apparently you can unlock each additional character for free by playing that Season’s content… but no thank you. It’s a LOT of additional playing, but nothing related to achievements so of course I’m good. How fun! Such a shame people hated on this so much.

The city only looks a little worse since we got here… I’d call that a success!

And the final barrier to finishing Phasmophobia lifted this week as it was the tenth week of completing the Weekly Challenge! Yes, you can change the console’s internal clock offline to complete them in a much faster way, but I figured there was no need since it was gonna take a while anyway to hit Prestige III. Speaking of, I hit level II-49 this week, so I’m so close to the end of this one! Funny enough, my final achievement is still on track to be the one for completing the tutorial. The only reason I didn’t bother with it was because TommyToday and Gh0st Who Walks were nice enough to give me a crash course in all the mechanics of the game. They rock! And we’re still playing together, though far less often (i.e. not nightly).
