I was mostly at Mayo Clinic all week, so it was pretty much all about the Cloud! Course, I still had Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth to finish up, and I’m so glad I started this game. It has such a strong Symphony of the Night-ness about it and is very clearly made similar to that game. And I love that game, so this was very welcome. This game is also quite short, never outstaying its welcome and the achievements don’t add a whole lot in the way of completion time. Besides just beating the game, you simply have to kill one of every enemy, clear the whole map, and collect every weapon and Spirit Magic. That last one could have been a major grind, but upon completing the game for the first time to unlock the option to start a new save with all weapons unlocked. If you collect 230 gold, unlock the shop, and then sell your Broadsword before buying it back, you instantly unlock the weapon achievement! Very nifty trick saving a good bit of time and RNG. That left me with the Boss Rush, which I wanted to do on stream so I could also keep a video of the successful attempt. On that, it actually wasn’t quite as hard as you’d think, which is good since to get the necessary rank you have to beat it within about 6 minutes.

I’m gonna light up your life!

So much for the backburner, but Umurangi Generation Special Edition was regurgitated right back onto my plate pretty quickly this week. Since I was away from home so much, wanted to complete Record of Lodoss War while I was home, and didn’t want to start another game, I figured I’d knock this one out. The levels are all the same, with them being a “find and seek” book but in a three-dimensional space. It’s fun, but a little too simple. It’s also very short, and I blew through what I had left on Tuesday while hanging at the hospital. The only challenge was completing all objectives in each level in under 10 minutes. It wasn’t really that difficult, though.

I like the message these guys are putting down.

It was time to pick another game to play, and I had the usual criteria for a hospital stay: short, but not too short; easy enough that I don’t need a guide (especially video ones); and something I can easily stop if needed to help my spouse or something. Serious Sam 4 fit the bill, and especially since it allows you to use infinite ammo and instant quick saves to complete the game. I’ve actually completed the first game back in 2014, and it was a fairly tough one. The gameplay in the series is very hectic, with hordes of enemies rushing you as soon as they spawn. This is different on the easiest difficulty, but most of the games in the series require you to beat it on the hardest. Not this one! With the difficulty cranked all the way down and infinite ammo, I easily can mow down anything that even looks at me. It’s easy enough to get through the levels, but I do need to have a guide up to know when I should be looking for side-missions to complete for achievements. These games tend to have expansive, yet linear, levels that you can easily get lost in. So, trying to find things like collectibles or weapons can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. I’m also surprised how pretty the game is! I’m enjoying it for what it is.

I’m bringing so much freaking cheer to you all.

I actually ended up back home again on Friday, so figured it’d be prudent of me to play something I can’t play on the Cloud. SpongeBob’s Truth or Square is still sitting mostly unplayed on my ‘tag, and it’s so easy I figured I’d jump on and clear some of the levels. Got through three of them, and it’s still a fairly typical platformer. I’m not sure what I’d expect; it is a kids’ game. But, I got a little more chipped away.
