I mostly used Demetrios - The BIG Cynical Adventure to extend my achievement streak throughout the week as I mostly focused on Spellbreak (more on that shortly). I didn’t get very far, only completing Chapter 1. I have…no idea what’s going on; it’s hard to gather what the storyline is when I’m playing for five minutes or so before jumping into the other game. Lots of potty humor, though. Which, oddly, the game actually asks in the beginning whether you wanna turn it off or not. But the game leans so heavily on it I’m not sure what the potty humor-less game would even look like!

Besides Demetrios, I’ve been using Carrion to extend my streak, and I finally wrapped this up this week! It was actually on Tuesday when I reached the final zone, collected my final upgrade, and reached the (bittersweet) end to the game. I really enjoyed this one, since there’s just something so fun about creeping around a sprawling sci-fi facility as a Thing-like monster to devour and shred anyone that you come across. I never found any part of the game difficult, either, so that’s always nice.

Oof, I may be stretching myself a little thin here…
I spent most of my week working on Spellbreak, because when it comes to games like this I want to just put my head down and get through it as quickly as possible. So, I’d jump into Demetrios or Carrion, get my achievement for the day, then play this as long as I could. I’ve gotten pretty okay at the game, but I still try to avoid combat as much as possible and just survive to the end. The vast majority of the time I’m able to survive until at least the top 3, so I’m getting good experience each match. By the end of the evening on Saturday I had three gauntlets leveled to 14, one to 10, and the final two at 4. I’ll definitely have this completed by the next blog entry!
