“Hang in there, buddy.”

I only had two areas left in Floppy Knights at the start of the week, which meant two set of challenges and objectives to do. Though, apparently the final area, Rowan’s Keep, doesn’t have any secondary objectives to complete nor a set of challenge levels! I guess maybe they thought the final stages would be tough enough on their own, but I easily cleared them both on my first try. Actually, that’s a common theme throughout the game for me: it just seemed so easy. I know, I used the accessibility options, but even that fairly small leg up couldn’t have made that much of a difference…right? I barely even changed my deck throughout the game. Either way, it wasn’t long until I’d knocked out the whole completion. I was very happy to get around to this one, and it was pretty fun!

I don’t wanna get too into it, but I have been at the hospital an increasing amount leading into this week, and I knew I’d be there more. I wanted to start a game I’d only play there, and another I’d play at home. I figured since I couldn’t stream a PC game due to how it’d tax my laptop, one of those would be a good idea to play away from home. I decided on Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition! I’d always wanted to play the “real” version, but there’s a set of spooky discontinued multiplayer achievements, so that’s likely out. This way I can at least get a gist of the story. It’s also a fairly easy completion, though I quickly find out a major issue: there are more than a few save-corrupting glitches in the game. I ran into my first one as I tried reloading my save at the end of Chapter 2 after quitting out to retry a (very annoying) random achievement. This meant I had to play all the way through up to that point again, and even found where the game keeps my save so I could keep a backup. Luckily, I managed to get that achievement my next run through, and then proceeded into Chapter 3 before stopping for the week. It’s a cute, watered-down version of the “real” game, but I’m enjoying what little I’ve played! I’m surprised it’s all voice acted considering it’s a mobile title. That’s a great level of quality!

As I now had my not-home game, I decided to use Ravenlok for when I’m home! It is actually a recently-added game to the Game Pass library, and a fairly easy and straightforward completion in a Wonderland-ish fantasy land. You don’t even a guide, and the only missable achievement is within the first few seconds of the game. The gameplay itself is all action, but you can just hold the attack button and take out a good amount of the enemies in the game. And if you’re fighting everything you come across and going back to the upgrade store, the game is (so far) very easy. So, worst case, you get stuck on where your next objective is and have to go into each area and figure that out. But, everything is intertwined and that random item you picked up before will end up being needed to proceed in the story. It really is a simple and fun game that I recommend!
