I’m really digging into Palworld at this point, and I’m making great progress, even finishing up the base game this week! With my powerful legendary Pals (that I’d also caught this week) and assault rifle, the normal bosses can’t stand in my way. The far harder challenge at this point are the various Pals I still need to catch. Some are a challenge even with my stronger upgrades, like the dual Paladius and Necromus that I had to essentially pull in some of the human thugs to help me take care of. I managed to summon the Sakurajima raid boss and they absolutely wrecked me (and I quickly reverted to a backup save). So, I’m not sure how I’m gonna surpass that hurdle, but I think the rest of it is coming along well. I’d be done already, but I’m playing other stuff amongst all this.

Still playing Phasmophobia almost daily with TommyToday and Gh0st Who Walks, and by the end of the week I’d hit level 50! So now I can do custom difficulties, which helps with increasing my experience multiplier and leveling. Otherwise we just keep playing a contract, mixing it up now and then by playing different levels. The maps of 6 Tanglewood Drive and 10 Ridgeview Court are the main favorites, but we ended the week mostly playing Camp Woodwind to unlock the Ranger badge. Not necessary for any achievements or anything, but why not? Hitting Prestige three times is gonna take some time and having fun is easy enough. I do have to be careful, though. I’ve unlocked many of the easy achievements that will come naturally, so to keep my streak I’ll have to be playing something parallel for most of the grind.

Got to play a couple hours of Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer: Comrades with Shawn1991 on Thursday. I’m still very much playing this only when he’s available, so progress will likely be slow. We mostly work on grinding the most efficient mission I have available until I have the energy to unlock more of the map and have a new mission to play. I’ve leveled up quite a bit, and have the attack power where I can kinda fight now! There was also a boss I had to fight alone, Bahamut. I got beat the first time, but the second time went a lot better and I got the one achievement this week for doing so.

This week was Thanksgiving in the US, and it’s the first time I’m celebrating since losing my partner. Just the kiddo and I. To keep it calm, I figured I’d play something I actually wanted to play and relax. Just so happens that Beyond Blue was on sale in the Black Friday Xbox Sale, so it was perfect! This is a semi-edutainment title where you play as a researcher following a pod of humpback whales through a handful of environments. In each one, you have many animals to scan and learn about, and I’m really pleased by how nice everything looked. For being a small indie title, you can really see the effort put into how the appearance of the atoll, open ocean, and the deepest depths of the ocean is. And the fish animations are really good, too! It’s an easy completion overall, though I’m surprised you literally have to scan every fish and school present in the game. About 3-4 hours and you’re all done! I bet if you stopped to watch the included documentary videos and such you could learn a lot! But… no achievements, so I’m good. I’m more than well aware how screwed our oceans and flora & fauna are, sadly.
